The Geographic Design LibraryTM

The TSR Group has designed an innovative process by which project information vital to project coordination, design and workflow is completely integrated. Information from accounting and scheduling to design and engineering is securely stored in a centralized database. This database can be securely hosted on the Internet or delivered on CD-ROM. We call this the Geographic Design Library. Utilizing the technology of the GDL to complete your project:

-
Facilitates communication between independent parties;
-
Increases project efficiency;
-
Improves design quality;
-
Reduces overall cost of your project coordination.

We are able to achieve these results by implementing the three phases of work that comprise the GDL: Collection; Analysis and Distribution. We collect data from a variety of sources: Federal, State and Local agencies; surveyors, planners, engineers and architects; 3D surface and visual data; GIS and GPS data to name some. The analysis phase is the general design and engineering of the project which is information generated by your project consultants or by The TSR Group's professional services. We analyze and reconcile the data and then distribute it in a variety of media, including the internet. TSR offers project websites, professional presentations, CD-ROM distribution and all manner of traditional paper media all derived from the same source: The TSR Group's Geographic Design Library.

How It Works

At the beginning of each project, preferably as the project is being conceived, all of the exisiting data related to your project is inventoried, reconciled and stored in the GDL.

The GDL integrates traditional CADD drawings from engineers, surveyors, planners and architects with financial and proforma data, 3D surface data, visual data, project scheduling and critical path data. The GDL may include information from public agency sources, private data suppliers, private surveyors, satellite imagery, aerial photography, differential GPS or other sources depending on the location and needs of your project. The GDL created for your project will support all traditional disciplines working together simultaneously; including land use planning, landscape architecture, architecture, market economics, financial analysis, environmental planning and civil engineering.

The GDL is not based on the traditional concept of "drawings." It is created and maintained as a genuine geographic database. The database becomes the library for the entire project as all team members check data in and out and update the GDL with new information as they accomplish their tasks. By creating and using a GDL for your project, communication flows more easily, information remains reconciled and you save time and money.

We have had great success with clients who have utilized the GDL process. Please contact us about putting the GDL technology to work for you.
